Updated on:

clean the inside of your toaster

Dirty toaster? The good news is: you can clean the outside AND inside of your toaster without damaging it! On this page, I will tell you exactly how to do it.

What can I do if my toaster is dirty?

If the inside or outside of your toaster is dirty you can give it a quick clean. In general, it is recommended to clean your toaster once every month.

Did you know that every toaster has a crumb tray? If your food tastes burnt there is a good chance you need to empty it! It is located on the bottom of your toaster and should be emptied every week.

Should I try cleaning my toaster with dish soap?

No, you should not try cleaning the inside of your toaster with dish soap. The reason for this is that you can not rinse a toaster, as this will damage the electric elements. Therefore it is recommended to never clean a toaster with dish soap.

Of course, the outside of the toaster can safely be cleaned with dish soap. Just be careful that no soap will get into the inside elements of the toaster.

Note: Always unplug your toaster when you start cleaning and let it cool down!
